Every Launches Slack Bot on Claude Managed Agents
Every launched its shared AI assistant in Slack, outsourcing orchestration to Claude Managed Agents and passing token costs with zero markup.
After private bots failed to stick, the startup moved to a company-wide assistant on Anthropic infrastructure with zero token markup.
On October 6, 2026, tech and media company Every publicly released the Every Agent (@Every), a workplace assistant embedded directly into Slack channels. The system runs on Claude Managed Agents, Anthropic’s managed cloud platform built to run autonomous agent workflows without requiring teams to maintain execution sandboxes or servers. Every co-founder and CEO Dan Shipper announced the launch, which was later confirmed by Anthropic on X.
The shift toward open channels followed an internal misfire earlier in the year. In March 2026, Every tested Plus One, assigning a private bot to each employee. Within weeks, most of the team stopped using it. Working in direct messages hid errors, prevented coworkers from discovering effective prompts, and locked useful routines inside isolated chats.
Ditching Private Bots for Shared Slack Channels
Every scrapped the private setup and unified access around a single shared bot in public channels. When an employee refines a prompt or edits draft copy in an open thread, the rest of the team sees the interaction happen in plain view.
This shared environment allows team members to save successful multi-step prompts as reusable skills. Instead of having each person rebuild prompts from scratch, coworkers can call the same tested workflows across editorial, research, and support tasks.
Claude Managed Agents and the Cost of Lock-In
To run the agent reliably at scale, Every retired OpenClaw, its internal orchestration system, and moved execution to Claude Managed Agents. According to technical accounts from engineer Paridhi Agarwal and platform lead Willie Williams, outsourcing the runtime eliminated the burden of managing code sandboxes, queuing systems, and prolonged context windows.
That convenience comes with concrete trade-offs. The Every Agent is tied entirely to Anthropic’s Claude models, with no immediate path for routing tasks to other providers. In addition, Claude Managed Agents does not currently support Zero Data Retention (ZDR). That limitation rules out companies in healthcare and banking, where regulatory mandates prohibit third-party logging of message data.
Workspace Integrations and Pass-Through Pricing
The bot links with more than 1,000 external tools, including Google Drive, Gmail, Notion, GitHub, Figma, HubSpot, and Stripe. Built-in routines include Kate Pass, a workflow developed for Every’s publication to run copy edits and submit pull requests automatically, as well as alerts that flag when new frontier model releases change how existing skills perform.
Every is also taking an uncommon path on pricing. Each seat includes $15 in promotional credits, up to a maximum of $500 per workspace. After that allowance, the service costs $30 a month per user as part of an Every membership. Token usage on Anthropic’s APIs carries no markup: Every passes API costs straight through at wholesale price.
