Podonos Launches Onepin to Audit AI Voice Audio
Podonos released Onepin to audit synthetic voice tracks line by line, catch pronunciation errors, and orchestrate over 100 text-to-speech models.
The platform orchestrates over 24 speech providers, audits recordings line by line, and regenerates only mispronounced clips.
On October 1, 2026, voice evaluation startup Podonos launched Onepin (onepin.ai), an AI voice production agent designed to address a common problem in synthetic speech: pronunciation mistakes in proper nouns, brand names, and technical terms. The launch was announced by founder Soohyun Bae, a former Google audio engineer, and tracked by industry outlets including TestingCatalog and AI News.
The pronunciation bottleneck in AI voice
Text-to-speech (TTS) engines sound more natural than ever, but deploying them in automated production pipelines still requires human oversight. Most speech engines infer sounds directly from spelling. When they encounter specialized jargon, foreign names, or acronyms, they frequently mispronounce them. In long-form recordings like audiobooks, tutorials, or video game voiceovers, a single misspoken word often forces audio teams to discard entire audio files or manually craft phonetic tags.
Four steps to audit audio with Onepin
Rather than training a new base speech model to compete with established providers, Podonos built Onepin as an orchestration layer. The platform connects more than 24 providers and over 100 speech models, including ElevenLabs, OpenAI, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Cartesia, through a single API and management console.
Podonos organizes the production workflow into four automated steps:
- Text normalization: cleans and standardizes numbers, dates, abbreviations, and street addresses before voice generation starts.
- Phonetic lookup: compares words against a dictionary that the company claims contains 4 million entries.
- Line-by-line validation: scores the generated audio for clarity, phonetic precision, and naturalness.
- Targeted correction: flags the misspoken phrase and regenerates only that segment, keeping the surrounding audio untouched.
The true depth of this phonetic dictionary outside English remains unverified. While Podonos highlights support for 10 languages, the company has not published independent benchmarks detailing how many of those 4 million entries apply to non-English speech.
Asynchronous workflows and agent integration
For software teams, Podonos released an open-source Python library (pip install onepin), a command-line interface, and integration skills for coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor, as documented in the official GitHub repository. This approach allows developers to trigger speech generation and quality assurance checks directly from their terminal or development environment.
Limits and costs
The platform targets asynchronous audio generation, such as video narration, podcasts, and digital courseware. It is not built for the low-latency response times required by real-time conversational phone bots.
Pricing transparency is limited. Podonos offers a free tier for developers exploring the API, but enterprise tiers require direct sales negotiations, with no public rate card per minute of generated audio. Podonos raised a $2.4 million pre-seed round in September 2025, according to a PR Newswire report, to build audio evaluation and synthetic speech detection tooling. Onepin is the startup’s first commercial product designed to automate quality control for synthetic speech at scale.
